Brooke Underwood serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Destination El Paso, the organization responsible for promoting El Paso as a premier destination for tourism, meetings, conventions, sports, entertainment, and community events. Before being named President & CEO in June 2026, Underwood served as Executive Director of Visit El Paso, the organization’s destination marketing division. She previously held the positions of Assistant General Manager and Director of Convention Development. In her current role, she provides strategic leadership for Destination El Paso’s tourism, convention, sports, entertainment, and community engagement initiatives while overseeing the organization’s continued growth and impact on the local economy.

A native El Pasoan, Underwood graduated from J.M. Hanks High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a focus on marketing from The University of Texas at El Paso. She began her career with Visit El Paso in February 2008 as Director of Convention Development. Before joining the organization, she served as Director of Sales for Stanton Street Technology Group.

Underwood also serves on a number of industry committees and boards. On the state level, she has served on the Texas Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Texas Destination Marketer Certification Program. Locally, she has served on multiple boards, including the Advertising Federation of El Paso, Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce, and the Sun Bowl Association Board of Directors, where she served as Executive Vice President and Vice President of Community Relations.

When not championing El Paso as a leading destination for visitors, meetings, sporting events, and live entertainment, Underwood enjoys spending time with her husband, local attorney Justin Underwood, and their two children, Jaxon and Avery.
