About Us

A trauma informed community makes El Paso STRONGer!

EPCGC, with funding through the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, established the West Texas Trauma Informed Care Consortium.  A first of its kind in our community, the West Texas Trauma Informed Care Consortium (WTTICC) was created to bring together professionals, organizations, businesses and the community at large throughout West Texas to address the specific trauma needs of children and families in our region.

The WTTICC is poised to expand opportunities for West Texans to receive trauma  informed care interventions by enhancing efforts for practitioners, facilities, and agencies to become competent in trauma informed practices.

The hummingbird represents the uniqueness of far West Texas. It symbolizes life and rebirth. The vibrant colors reflect how WTTICC continues to move forward to help children and families who have experienced trauma related issues. The yellow and orange symbolize El Paso’s iconic poppies and represent joy, happiness, health and regeneration. The solo pink wing symbolizes the community coming together as one.

Trauma informed care is of utmost importance in any community, and El Paso is no different. Together, through the power of collaboration and steadfast commitment, our community will have access to effective, efficient and accessible resources that will make us stronger and truly trauma informed.
