Volunteers serve in many capacities within our organization. They contribute their time, energies and talents to help fulfill the Center’s mission. Volunteers have a large impact on the Center’s ability to provide the best quality care in a safe and nurturing environment. Volunteer activities can vary greatly from one event to another. Typical volunteer tasks include painting, performing minor building maintenance tasks, assembling furniture, and organizing and moving furniture. Volunteers also participate in our fundraisers and special events. The UTEP School of Counseling Honor Society (Chi SIgma Iota) donated time, labor and materials to do landscaping around the Center's Yandell clinic and helped with the Center’s fundraisers. A local contractor, Alberto’s Construction donated over $7,500 in time, labor and materials for small clinic renovations. A local photographer took staff pictures for our website and of some of our special events.
The Center’s volunteer workforce is a vital component to our agency’s growth and ability to serve more children and families. To join our volunteer team today, please contact Nicole Kent at 562-1999.
Interns from University of Texas El Paso (UTEP) and New Mexico State University provide individual, family and group therapy. If you are a UTEP or NMSU student looking for an internship, please contact our Clinical Director, Tim Mendoza, LPC-S at 562-1999.
Medical students, psychiatry residents and child fellows from Texas Tech University attend the Center's weekly clinical team meeting as part of their training and assist the Center's Medical Director in providing psychiatric care.
